February 2015

Abby LOVES Noah. She is always excited for him to get home from school and then sad when he leaves to hang out with friends. If he's hanging out outside, she wants to be with him. I captured that pretty well with these pictures of her just watching him work.

Noah saved his money for a LONG time and finally had enough to purchase his own ipod touch! What a cool moment for this awesome 10-year-old!

We went on a Sunday night bike ride and Noah really wanted to be the one to pull Abby in the bike trailer. He loved it and so did she!

Riggs passed away on January 9, 2015. This was a very sad day. Mom and Russ woke Noah and Sophie up early to tell them about it and then we spent the day at the Gibbons' house. Noah had written about it... not sure if it was a journaling assignment or what but I know this was not an easy thing for Noah. He has loved his boy cousins - Riggs and Jax - since the day he was born.

This picture shows Noah, Jax, Suzy, and Kaitlyn looking at Riggs's body at the viewing. Noah wanted to remember what he looked like and even took a picture of his body on his ipod touch.
After the viewing, we all went to the Gibbons' house since there were still things that needed done before the funeral the next morning. All the kids fell asleep while the adults worked on writing the life sketch.
The funeral was a sad day, but we also had a good time listening to funny stories about Riggs and remembering so many good things about him. Noah got to take a rose from the bouquet on top of his casket.
Another journal entry about Riggs's funeral...

Noah got to attend a field trip with his ELP class and other 4th graders from Madison Elementary. They went to Usery Pass and Russ went as a chaperone. They had a good time!

This is Noah with his 4th grade class and teacher Mrs. Strunk :)

Riggs had planned his Eagle Scout project for February 21, which ended up being two weeks after he died. His friends and family carried on with the project and held a car wash to earn donations for toys and/or money to benefit Cardon Children's toy closets. The project was a major success! Noah got to help wash some cars :)
After the eagle project was finished...
The day after the eagle project was done, we went to visit Riggs's grave at the cemetary. We had a little picnic and the weather was perfect. It was a nice, peaceful day to think about Riggs.

The kids get to sleep in bed with mom when Russ goes out of town. Nobody except Abby was comfortable this particular night!

Noah finished off his season of playing WHAM basketball on team "Majestic Pancakes"... he did SO awesome in that last game!

Noah and his best buddies from his team (Louis had left before we got the picture).
